Roger Shanks has painted in watercolour since 1996. During the last 7 years he has painted in oils. He has toured in the UK, Europe, Eastern Europe, Canada, Scandinavia, USA, Australia and New Zealand, painting and gathering material and inspiration.
Tuition has come from notable artists from Australia and New Zealand including Joseph Zbukvic, Ross Paterson, and Tony Lewis for watercolour, and Herman Pekel and John Crump for oils.
Roger has gained awards from Cambridge Society of Arts, was a finalist in Australian Artist Magazine Vol. 203, and was featured on the cover of and in article within New Zealand Artist Magaine September/October 2016. (Read the article here).
Roger has had several successful exhibitions with up to 50% sales. Roger has made numerous sales to both New Zealand and overseas collectors.
